Blue Bar
Old-school beach bar for musos
Built in the 60s and a veritable meeting point for hippies, artists and musicians – they say the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley and Pink Floyd used to jam on guitars here – the Blue Bar (yes, it’s painted blue with flowers and stars) on Mitjorn beach was taken over by a German family about 20 years ago. A fantastic sunset spot, the restaurant serves a good international menu with Mediterranean and Asian touches, but no paella! Music is a big part of the Blue Bar, with DJ Kaya (one half of the couple who own the place) taking great pride in her eclectic mix of reggae, chill out, pop, jazz and electronica. Every night a two-hour set starts at 7pm to accompany the sunset – best enjoyed with tapas and cocktails.
Top Tip:
If you’re a big group, book during the summer season as it gets busy.
