No hanky panky

If you thought that night school was only for bored housewives in ITV sitcoms, think again. Because adult education has gone all cool on us.

On April 19th, City Lit's brand new £21m site in Keeley Street, Covent Garden, opens its swanky doors (today is the last day of classes in their old building). The purpose-designed premises will make City Lit the largest adult education centre in Europe.

Aside from the usual courses in (lesbian) jewellery making, (the also lesbian friendly) batik printing etc, City Lit offers some of the most modern part-time courses around with courses covering Humanities, Health and Fitness and Visual Arts.

But, if you are more interested in spending your evenings penetrating London's media fraternity than sitting in a classroom, courses such as 'East end galleries and contemporary art in London 2: the White Cube', could actually help you indulge in a more informed level of gallery ligging in the future.

However, I am particularly interested in 'Scandals, scholars and socialites - Soho in the eighteenth century', offering an insight into a world of society hostesses, great lovers, and eccentric botanists!

Whist I wonder whether I would have been better to take the course in 'Freelance writing for newspapers and magazines', than spending a fortune to do a rubbish MA at CSM.
