Ever since the Beastie Boys erected a 20 foot penis on stage as part of their 'Get Off My Dick' tour things have never been the same in Columbus, Georgia.

Located on the border of Alabama in the heart of America's Bible Belt, it is a understatement to say that the majority of the local population didn't take it very well. In fact city officials passed a new law banning 'lewd' acts on stage; a law immortalised by Ice T in his 'Freedom Of Speech' song.

As a designer, video maker, musician and singer, this gave the penis-witnessing local lass Tiff McGinnis (AKA Crazy Girl) little choice but to pack her bags and head to Blighty in search of creative freedom.

Encapsulating a unique musical vision that has the attitude of punk but the funk of hip hop and electro, she has gone on to hook up with esteemed producers such as Maurice Fulton, J Saul Kane and the Idjut Boys.

Her live shows at places like Nag Nag Nag are as berserk as her beats. With great comic timing, incredible home-made outfits and songs like 'Cocaine
Talk', Crazy Girl is clearly not a shrinking violet but a tour de force who's more than happy to stick the finger to curtain-twitching normality.

Crazy Girl and The Delusions of Grandeur tomorrow night (Thursday 21) at 333, 333 Old St, EC1
