London Fashion Week.

Sounds glamorous, but, in truth, it canbe the worst week of the year for us fashionistas. All that champagne and nobody to flirt with when the Moët kicks.

What else can one do but bitch about editors' weight gain and poor, poor Kate? (Cocaine - so 2001!)

Not anymore - as of this year, London Fashion Week will see dedicated catwalks for menswear (which hasn't been touched since the less than inspiring attempt in '99). Fashion East have joined forces with Topman for the MAN show held today, featuring three new names fresh from Central Saint Martins, aka Fashion Factory.

Finally! A platform for London's fantastic menswear designers; the silent heros of our fashion world. Without them, guys would still be wearing blue-checked shirts and chinos (oh dear, half of you still are, aren't you?).

The event is only open to press and buyers, natch. But maybe go down and linger around for support. Or do what I'm doing and volunteer to help out oiling the models' ample pectoral muscles, letting the oil drip down the ladder-like six-pack of their rock hard abs.

Actually, on second though, best if you don't. No, No, Really. Seriously. You're not welcome. Don't make me tell your mum! Perv.

MAN takes place today at 6:30pm
at The Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane, E1
