I don't think there's a person in London who hasn't had the pleasure of trying to rent a space for an event/launch/party/shoot before.

Seems like events these days are held at Sketch, shoots at Highgate Studios, and product launches at Westbourne Studios; if you want something different, you're going to have to put in the legwork - and who has time for that?

If you're willing to make the trek to Stokie however (don't be scared, it's only 16 quid in an Addison Lee carrier from the West End), the new Castle Gibson Location could be a definite option. Now we don't usually write about vacant spaces (we're not sponsored by Foxtons yet!!), but this studio space (all 10,000 sq feet of it) seems to have a bit of character.

Created from a 19th century depository this three story space is complete with aged parquet floors and original cobbled courtyards, catering kitchens, up-to-the minute electrics and, the most exciting part, a proper fully functioning lift. The feel is part 90s SoHo loft, part 40s louche lounge and they've even got retro furniture gems (courtesy of their store, of course) for hire, so you don't have to lug yours in (what entrepreneurs).

So, another studio space in London - may not be the most exciting launch this year, but at least all of media London isn't shooting there. Yet.
