I know we've been banging on about fashion lately, but we thought it irresponsible to not comment on the million-dollar (fashion) question.

So why did Anna Wintour come to London last week?

Well, the short answer is Christopher Kane.

The rumoured appearance of American Vogue's mini dominatrix at LFW sent seismic waves of gossip throughout the fashion community, with many speculating on the reason for her visit, particularly when she has publicly appealed for the event to be reduced to a two-day slot between Paris and Milan.

Indeed the feeling that London fashion is weak has been palpable for a while now, but a handful of new designers have grabbed her interest, none more so than Central St Martins MA student, Kane.

Although she didn't attend the college's annual graduate show on Saturday, she requested a personal interview with the designer. He also brought along a gaggle of models to her hotel room for a private show of the collection which features his signature second skin lace mini dresses.

At the official show he won the Harrods award and his slick presentation hinted at the super-powered glamour of Versace, who co-incidentally have been sponsoring him - allegedly!

So Calvin watch out - talent like this definitely doesn't come around very often - we'd be guarding our initials if we were you.
