My how things change. As a kid, it was all your parents could do to get your dinner down you; not to mention keeping you at the table itself. Thankfully, when it's our turn, we've a host of witty designs to turn to for help - battleship napkins, olive solitaire, hell there's even a plate and trick book for left over peas! |

But despite the food play, seriously good design is being brought to the table and it's a sure-fire way of keeping us there. One such place that designs for the individual's needs is gallery-style showroom, Willer. Offering solutions for all types of settings (weighted wine glasses for your yacht perhaps?), its 'Design for the Table' showcase kicks off today featuring work from Rupert Spira, Maryse Boxer and Christiane Perrochon. And across town, 'What a Dish' sees 18 further designers at Contemporary Ceramics offer a tribute of their own. Of course, if this fails to give you food for thought, we suggest you invest in Soop Design's new 'Ready Meals' plates which feature outlines of faves such as sausage, beans and mash - it may not be stylish but it sure is fun. Bon Appetit!
