Double Dutch
Queen

From one Queen to another, yes, it seems April is the number one month for a right royal rave-up.

Didn't think much of the Windsors' do last weekend? Then maybe Queen Juliana's Birthday weekender will change your tune.

For those blissfully unaware, Queen's Day in the Netherlands celebrates the Birthday of the former Queen Juliana, and her daughter Beatrix is more than happy to keep the tradition alive. Basically, it's a huge national piss-up with street markets, parades and parties galore - plus a copious amount of orange.

With all the pre, during, and post Q-Day parties going on, Holland is in for one messy weekend. As per usual, the Supperclub is poised and ready - and their pre-party Queensnight Cruise is shaping up as the perfect aperitif. Meanwhile, Ex-Porn Star and Club Love continue the SC festivities on dry land. The Dance Alley Street party at Korte Leidsedwarsstraat is the place to head on the actual day - but only if you can tolerate the crowds.

Don't worry too much if you are stuck in the UK - many Dutch would say that you are better off, with a fair few celebrating expat style, dodging those pesky tourists.

Besides, London is having its own Dutch extravaganza - complete with clubbing zone et al. Thanks to Holland House, funky techno DJs Michel de Hay and Don Diablo will be hotfooting it from their Dutch gigs to crank up the tunes over in Temple Gardens. Just don't forget to pile on the orange.
