Ven a España
Viva España

Yes we like travelling in style, but we don't want to break the bank doing it.

At least not always.

And at this time of year, we at UJ always start turning our attention to Spain (Primavera Sound, Sónar, Benicàssim, Summercase, Ibiza openings).

The below are hotels where you can sleep in style, and still have dosh to play with.

Nouveau Chain Gang
AC Hotels are a chain in name, but not in practice. Based mostly in Spain with a few properties in Italy and Portugal, they have sleek hotels in city locations, and specialise in converted monasteries and convents. We love the free mini bars.
AC Hotels - +34 902 292 295
From EUR 80 to 300+

Culture In The City
Bypass the much hyped soon-to-launch Hard Rock Hotel (fine in Vegas, not in España) and head straight for De Las Letras. Based in the heart of Madrid's cultural scene, this newbie has clean modern lines, state of the art features, artwork throughout, and a fabulous 'Air Terrace'. We're fans.
De Las Letras Hotel & Restaurant
Gran Via 11, Madrid 28013 - +34 91 523 7980
From EUR 120

Location Location Location
If you can't get yourself booked into the Banys Orientals (who plans months in advance?), then the simplistic chic of the newly opened Ciutat Barcelona will get you right in the center of town.
Hotel Ciutat Barcelona
Princesa 33-35, 08003 Barcelona - +34 93 269 7475
From EUR 90
