Anyone remember when globalisation was bad? When the fact that whole swathes of our beloved London neighbourhoods were being taken over by identikit chains was viewed as the latest chapter in the evil capitalist conspiracy? |

Funny how familiarity ultimately breeds, well, acceptance I guess. Well here's a little story to prove there's still hope: 43 Kensington High Street used to be the scene of one of London hippest indoor fashion street markets until the lease was taken over by global shoe chain, Office, some time ago. Office decided to move out a couple of years back and the site has remained unused ever since. Well, that is until a group of artistic squatters climbed in through a window and turned it into a live-in cinema, gallery, studio and live music venue that is open to the public. Named Da Gallery by its founders, the space features regular art exhibitions, gigs and a regular Sunday film club. So make time to visit this urban gem, that is creatively flouting all the capitalist rules, before it's too late. Coz where there's a will, there's a way.
