If restaurants were cruise liners then the good ship M.O.M would be the Queen Mary. It's not merely a destination, but a journey. Tucked away in Lancashire Court - the sliver of cobblestones wedged between Bond and Grosvenor Streets - is the four floor culinary emporium that is Mews of Mayfair. |

Once you get past the crush outside, head straight for the bright and airy ground floor bar; perfect place to sip strawberry and cucumber martinis and get acquainted with fellow travellers. For dinner, where to? There seems to be choices to match our mood (with not an all you can eat buffet in sight). The 'map room' (top floor) is for serious sailors (with serious pockets as it's a private dining room with views into the kitchen) and the main dining room - with chic white interior and butterfly decorated walls - definitely draws the gorgeous folk. The fare is British (with the requisite twist) and the décor is glamorous. Feel like a nightcap? Head to the basement bar. Why move
when you have everything you need right here? Four floors, two restaurants,
two bars in a hidden corner of Mayfair. Maybe Mayfair, finally this
time, is on the ups? |
