Last week it was declared that New Rave is the thing, but others live and die by the rules of disco. Probably because Disco is such a brilliant word: say it aloud and it uncurls satisfyingly from the mouth and forces the lips to pout in a Studio54-esque air-kiss.

Musical folks just can't get enough of it. Recent Disco exploits include the Glaswegian group Shit Disco and wonderfully monikered club night T-e-s-c-o-D-i-s-c-o. Now, meet Eskimo/Disco, a three man bandfrom London that release a debut single on Monday, called 7-11.

Their sound is pleasingly infectious and self-billed as 'party' music: but don't let that put you off. Who doesn't love a good party? Their first release is poppy and happy, but dig deeper and you'll find eclectic noises that tinkle with the taste buds and hypnotic vocally hits that make way for wonderful weirdy mixes.

The Eskimo theme was in force at the launch party at Billingsgate Ice Rink and the video for 7-11 features famous penguin Pingu. Which is why, as it gets a little colder, it's the perfect time to embrace your inner Eskimo and go disco-a-go-go.
