Foot Fetishes
Sky high

Foot fetishes. What used to be relegated a nightmare blind date and creepy porn sites has gone mainstream.

Maybe it has something to do with the ever increasing propensity for £300 shoes, but whatever the cause, it's disturbing. As are the lengths that this new flock of pedi-philes will go to in order to achieve fancy feet. Here are some of the horrifying highlights.

Flesh Sucking Fish:
Available at Skin Therapy Ireland are Turkish flesh sucking fish. Coined doctor fish, these minute minnows have a fondness for dead, diseased and scabby skin. Using their gummy mouths (thankfully no teeth); they vacuum away calluses and leave feet soft as a babe's. At least for those for those who can stand a) the tickling and b) the thought of being nibbled on by a fish.

Toe Tucks:
Next, coming in at a slightly higher cost than your standard pedicure are "toe tucks", the new piece de resistance of the cosmetic surgery world. A 25 minute procedure combined with around £1000, two weeks recovery time and the risk of painful side effects can slim down even the most unsightly sausage toe. All we can say is, at least it's permanent.

Caviar Pedicure:
On the other hand, for those already taken with their tootsies and wanting to treat them to a little TLC, the Caviar Spa Pedicure is just the ticket. Head to London's The Peak Health Club & Spa for this upmarket treatment which uses a potion of caviar and various vitamins and minerals to brighten, exfoliate and polish your petite appendages to perfection.

Caviar or not, we'll stick to the pumice stone and take the side of champagne.
