It finally looks like the weather's getting back to normal, and once it stops hailing London's greener spots are definitely the place to be. |

If you're free this afternoon for instance you can play some Poker in the Park. O, we know calling that grassy bit in the middle of Leicester Square a 'park' might be a bit of stretch, but it's free and there's pro's on hand to teach the tricks of the trade so at least you won't be going home penniless. We're also contemplating a trip down to the Tower
Music Festival, but we have to admit the music isn't the main draw.
Apparently Mercier Champagne have dispatched a fleet of French tricyclists
(complete with berets) to provide a 'bubbly on wheels' service to the
crowds. You don't get that at Glastonbury! |

But what we're really looking forward is the Gumtree (bear with us) Sports Day on July 22 on Clapham Common. We at UJ have been talking about launching a sports day for ages, so good to see that someone actually has done it. Expect the usual tricks: sack racing and egg and spoon as well as the slightly less-traditional, but no less welcome, organic farmers market. Now if only they would invite the Mercier guys down there, too; sack
racing on three glasses of champagne anyone? |
