It looks like London is about
to get serious (once again) about V-VIP clubbing. Where the Met and
Mahiki have trod before, the big buzz around town is surrounding another
Major Nightclub about to open in Soho going by the name of Maya. |

And if checklists are anything to go by, Maya looks like it's set to soar. Respected team behind it, check (it's from the crew that brought us Pangaea, The Cuckoo Club, Amika, Movida and 43.) Glamorous staff uniforms, check (PPQ, dahling). Hot slebrity ambassadors backing the club, check (they've got Lee - Alexander McQueen to you and me - and Sienna). But what's really got our attention here is the focus on the 'return
of the bonafide dancefloor' (great!) and the NYC door policy (gulp),
which means you can't buy your way in. Nightly, a clipboard he/shiva
will deem if your entrance is worthy. Or not. So no golden handshakes
then, huh? |

And should you be super-super worthy, there are gold-plated membership cards by invitation only. Of course, we're assuming that means you can jump the queue. Our only question is, is our gold card in the post or not? We certainly hope so. Maya -
now open for private events, opens to public next Wednesday September
