      Picture this: All your favourite
friends over at chez toi, wine and conversation flowing and some of
the best food you've ever tasted being served up without you having
to lift a finger. Yep, this is how the rich and spoilt live on a regular
basis, but who said private chefs were only for them? Below are our
picks of the capital's best chefs, who will come to you.

      Heavy Hitter and Home
          Classics
          Absolute Taste
has recently hooked up with our favourite chef we love to hate, so,
although they're more well-known for catering to the F1 team and the
Beckhams, you could have a little bit of the Ramsay experience in the
comfort of your own home. Effortless
Eating on the otherhand, specialises in home-cooked classics, like
braised beef with red wine and shallots, so you can pretend you did
          all the hard work yourself.
        Fashionable Favourites and Seasonal Greats
          Tom's Deli chef Lorraine
Wood is in hot demand with the fashion and film industry alike,
but thankfully she's also just as happy to treat us mere mortals to
her rustic modern European delights, like cannellini beans with roasted
fennel, or the more exotic, like five spice duck leg with tamarind roasted
vegetables and coconut rice. And Zoe
Cordy-Simpson, who is one of the co-founders of Foodfullstop.com
and a stickler for the freshest seasonal ingredients, can knock up pretty
much any of the recipes featured on the website, from Invergarry crabcakes
to roast rack of salt-marsh lamb with a stew of peas and flageolets.
        Wine and Dine
And finally, Sicily-raised Julia Platania of Kitchen
Secrets has teamed up with wine specialists A
Moveable Feast to create bespoke Italian dinners. Think crostini
with white truffle and porcini paste paired with a 2004 Monte Rotondo
Gavi di Gavi, or roasted fillet of veal, polenta crisp, wild mushroom
and thyme jus with a 2000 San Leonardo.
We're just wondering if any of them could be persuaded to make lunch
on Christmas day. Now, that really would be something worth paying for.
