Pizza Party
Soho House's Pizza East Launches.

So I’m not technically Italian (a good percentage of me actually hails from the land of the Frankfurter and the Hoff Appreciation Society – lucky me). But by the amount of cash I’ve pumped into The Hut, Pizza Express, various Zizis and Asks, I bloody well should be.

Or perhaps it’s precisely because of this uninventive choice in Italian food chains that I have yet to receive my honorary citizenship?

So I’m switching it up a gear with Soho House’s new eatery, Pizza East. Expanding the Shoreditch House mansion into the ever-reinventive Tea Building on the other corner, expect to see those legendary Sh-House ten-inch pizzas (the saviour of many an impromptu night’s drinking) covered in the likes of duck sausage with shaved artichokes, boschetto al tartufo and parmesan, before finishing up with a little something sweet like the salted chocolate caramel tart.

Choose to dine at the Pizza Bar for a prime view of all that glorious, bubbling cheese as it gets pulled tenderly out of wood-burning ovens, enjoy the resident DJ in the sympathetically industrial-designed environs, and walk away with a little store-cupboard something from the (ha! finally!) take-away counter.

Now, how do I get hold of Silvio Berlusconi? I hear he might be a leg man…

Pizza East opens Friday 16th October.
