Spruced up fast food

On the balcony above Covent Garden’s crowded Jubilee Market, MEATmarket is a great spot to escape the tourists (who are sure to be put off by the tacky takeaway signs outside). Burgers are the main attraction (Dead Hippie is a favourite), but you’ll find hot dogs, corndogs and Poppaz (deep fried jalapeño and cheese croquettes) on the menu too. A Jägermeister float or homemade soft ice are the dessert offerings, or simply round off with a Miami Nice, hard shake or soda. Everything from the fast food-style boards, counters and slushie machines, down to the trucker hats and glittery talons of the staff scream trailer trash, but this is one cool burger joint.

Top Tip:

You can take out. Forget Maccy D, this is a proper burger joint.
