Fun King’s Cross pop up
Converted from a disused petrol station (yes, really), Shrimpy’s sits forlornly in a desolate landscape of abandoned buildings and construction sites. But that just makes it all the more fun. The scalloped, translucent fibreglass structure envelops an eclectic interior: lavish white linen and crystal glass combined with quirky, bright illustrations on the walls. Oh, and pineapple lamps. The menu is decidedly American (North and South) so expect plantain with your dips, and chimichurri with your steak. Get in quick before it’s demolished to make way for flashy apartments.
Top Tip:
There’s space at the bar for walk-ins if you forget to book but groups might struggle to fit into the small space: two is the magic number.
