There’s beach dining aplenty in Formentera, but 2012 newbie Beso is one of the best. Designed by Alessandro Negri – think white washed furniture and natural colours paired with eclectic modern design – this chic venue suits Illetes perfectly. Sit down in the sand and enjoy a glass of white sangria, a plate of Iberico ham, mussels on the grill and Carril clams Can Perleta-style. And be sure to try their paella, fresh fish of the day or grilled steak Bilbao Berria. Delish.

Top Tip:
Get there after 6pm (but well before sunset, as about 700 people turn up for the spectacular view!) and order mojitos and caipirinhas.
