Cala Xuclar

Secret cove for crystal clear snorkeling

The golden goose of getaways, this might be one of the island’s last hidey-holes for escaping the crowds. The tiny horseshoe-shaped cove in the northwest is home to a few fisherman’s huts and a tiny but divine beach bar doing great salads, grilled meats and fish. There aren’t exactly a wealth of facilities so come prepared, and if you’re into diving bring your snorkel as the crystal clear waters here make the sea life super accessible.

Top Tip:
If you’ve left it too late to bag a bit of the beach for yourself, pop next door and try your luck at Cala Xarraca; it may be pebblier than its sister but it’s still a darn sight quieter than the beaches down south.
