A small fishing village on the north side of the island, Es Caló is the perfect breakfast spot. A beachside bar and restaurant nestled in the harbour, which is about as picturesque as you can get with old boat sheds and whitewashed beach bungalows. It’s almost impossible to tear your eyes away from the perfectly still turquoise stretch of sea leading all the way to Ibiza, but you must, if only to order your Spanish breakfast – toasted bread with tomato puree, olive oil and a hint of garlic.
