High end with scoops of old-school Spanish charm and glamour, the Hacienda Hotel is set well away from the throng of San An and Playa d’en Bossa. Perched 180m above sea level, it’s a 45-minute drive from town, with the last ten minutes being hairpin turns, but it’s well worth the trek. The 65-room hotel boasts fantastic views of the famous magnetic Es Vedra rock and the recently refurbished rooms are picture-perfect; don’t be expecting top of the range mod cons here though. This is a five-star boutique hotel with traditional Ibicenco charm. Highlights are the views from every room, and the privacy that the location allows. Luxuriate in the Thalasso spa in one of UJ’s favourite swim spots, the Cascasdas Suspendias – seawater plunge pools that work their way down the rock face like a waterfall.

Top Tip:
Ask for a refurbished double room as these come with jacuzzis overlooking the sea. Grab a bottle of champagne and hit the tub.
