Born in South Korea, the London-based designer Kay Shin first visited Ibiza five years ago. Love at first sight for all the right reasons – “The colour of the water, smell of grilled calamari, midday siesta and Caribbean-like Formentera” – she also adores that “You can go back and back and still find a spot that you haven’t been before… and it’s only two hours away!”

Kay Shin’s Top Tips

1. Cala Conte and Cala D’Hort for sunset and dinner.
2. Visit the north of the island where pine trees welcome you. Express yourself in the nudist beach Aguas Blancas and head for local fave Cicale for laidback lunch or Balàfia for BBQ dinner.
3. Go to the shop Artemisia (Calle de la Santa Faz 8) in Dalt Vila and buy your loved ones a real Ibicenco gift. Jennie uses pressed local wildflowers to produce her artworks.
