Maya Claughton Boyd
Pacha Magazine Editor and freelance travel and style journalist
A freelance travel and style journalist, Maya first visited the island when she was 15: “It was an instant love affair.” Now an Ibiza devotee (she’s the author of Vogue’s Ibiza blog and Editor of Pacha magazine), Maya loves the possibilities the island holds: “You can do anything you want in Ibiza. You can live a hundred different lives.”
Maya Claughton Boyd’s Top Tips
- Read about the island – both Ibiza and Formentera have incredible histories and there are plenty of books to discover. The Road To San Vicente (Leif Borthen) is a beautiful memoir of life in the tiny northern cove before the road connected it with the rest of the island.
- Take the road less travelled. Drive from San Carlos to Cala San Vicente and up and over to Portinatx – the sea views and scenery are unsurpassable. Likewise the clifftop road from Benirras to Port San Miguel, preferably at sunset.
- Bathe in the glory of Ibiza’s most sensational sunset view. Hotel Hacienda occupies an eagle’s perch, 180m above the waters of Na Xamena. Purpose-built whirlpools and cascades are cut out of the craggy limestone, allowing you to soak in sunset bubbles. Otherworldy.
