It's about time London had a new members bar. And the dawn of the new year brings 43 South Molton, a brilliant new watering hole and restaurant that's as eclectic as they come. |

43 South Molton is a new-breed establishment for creative Londoners who are tired of those slickly packaged pack-em-in banker bars. And aren't we all? The three floor space is styled by co-owner and fashion designer Russell Sage. The ground floor restaurant is open to everyone, not just members, and themed on a traditional hardware store (hammers and all) which will bring some humour to South Molton Street's posh boutiques. For the two-floored members bar upstairs, Sage has mixed arty paintings, light-bulb installations, artefacts, mirrors and effects in a cosy, quirky, Scottish hunting lodge style so perfect for those after hour's nightcaps. Now that the detox is over we welcome it more than ever. |
