Sit Boo Boo

Is it a bird, is it a plane? No, it's a shop - forgive me, retail space - that multitasks as a bar and restaurant.

Truly hot off the press - the official opening isn't until May 24th - Chair is the brainchild of Andrew Cussins, the entrepreneur behind Sofa Workshop (hardly B+B Italia, I know), and his team have a collective CV spanning the RCA, Habitat and Aero.

Design-led is their middle name. Downstairs is the contemporary home furnishing store stocking up-and-coming YBDs - Amelia Coward (cabinet furniture and rug design and Chair's in-house designer), Sam Sweet (ceramics), Dominic Bromley (candles and ceramics) and Rowena Pinto (cushions) - while in the upstairs bar/restaurant each table is by a different designer, and they're all for sale.

Brings a new meaning to "I liked it so much I bought the company".

The menu is the usual seasonal organic/hand-crafted fayre and apparently its core messages are about 'sustainability and fair trade'... hmmm.

And if you get there in the next three weeks you'll be eating on virgin restaurant critic territory. So pull up a chair and decide for yourself.

Chair, 98 Westbourne Grove, W2
Restaurant: 020 7985 0400
Home store: 020 7985 7640 (brochureware, again)
