Off to the Races
Horse race figures from the National Maritime Museum

Horse racing season is in full swing, but don't be fooled into thinking that the gee-gees are solely for the über-rich, in their oversized hats eating over-priced picnics in their oversized private boxes.

What if we were to tell you that even 'real people' like you and me, people who don't own yachts, small islands and international oil companies can enjoy an outing to the races with a great view of the track, (one where you can actually see some horses) and great food (anything that doesn't involve the words 'in a basket').

At Kempton race course they've just completely overhauled their Panoramic Bar & Restaurant. So now as well as the panoramic view of the course you also get a flat screen TV at every table (for close up views of the action, not sneaky Big Brother updates), and the rather natty dinner package which includes a four-course à la carte meal, wine, premier entry badge, members car park pass and a table for the day on the front row!

For the incredibly organised among you there's a special 'Best of British evening' on tonight, which includes some good old military band displays and a firework finale.
