Call me greedy, but I've never been a big fan of 'being good' when it comes to life's edible pleasures. The closest I've ever got to detoxing is eating my wagyu burger without its bun and I'm about as likely to ever try a wheatgrass shot as walk on the moon - possibly less. |

Which is why, at this time of year in particular, I'm all for banishing any notion of virtue and beating the winter blues with a healthy dose of indulgence. Classy new Italian Brera, where chef Cristian Roncari
cooks up an exceptional Milanese menu, is just the place for this. After
a couple of Negronis at the bar - served with complimentary stuzzichini
(bar snacks) - I'll be ready for cream of Gorgonzola and truffle soup
followed by braised pork cheek with borlotti beans and pan fried foie
gras. |

And, not to show off, but I might just have room for the warm zabaione with marron glace, washed down with a grappa or two. So set aside your herbal tea and make the most of the cold snap, I say. Unless you're Paris Hilton you're not going to be wearing a bikini for a good few months. |
