Inject
the fun back into your life. Get silly with Bonde Do Role... You would however be wrong in thinking of this Brazilian band as Latin American descendants of The Smiths with their heart set on a vegetarian form of liberation. The truth is Bonde Do Role about as unserious as it’s possible to get. |

Hailing from Curitiba in the south, the band – Marina, Pedro and Gorky – are yet another example of why Brazil is a hotbed of exciting cultural exports. Discovered by DJ Diplo their admirable goal in life seems to be to party. At a recent show at Dingwalls it was a sight watching Marina and Pedro
constantly having to stop bouncing around the stage because they kept
creasing up in laughter. They clearly enjoy their job, but who wouldn’t.
Their job description is to rap in their native tongues over big, dumb
but fun baile funk rhythms and samples. Used by anyone else some of
their musical selections would verge on cheesy. Not so these guys. They
have so much fun on stage, it’s impossible to begrudge them the
odd AC/DC or, dare I say, Grease sample. |

What’s more they sound even better on record. Grab their forthcoming debut album ‘Bonde Do Role With Lasers’ and see them live wherever you can. This is the dumb but fun, hip new party sound that is coming your way summer ’07. Let the poultry out and get with it. Bonde
