However much we pretend we're not impressed by pomp and presence, it's always a little bit exciting when a promisingly sceney restaurant pops up in London. |

This particular hotspot-to-be is sister diner to La Petite Maison in Nice, which is already something of a local icon having attracted the likes of Bono and the French president (not together, we don't think, but then again we wouldn't be surprised). What's more, the London branch is in a prime location, tucked behind
Claridges in Brooks Mews, where posh Italian Teca used to stand, and
will serve the sort of refined yet simple food you'd find in... well,
the south of France. Expect such treats as pissaladière with
caramelised onions and smoked anchovies and seabass in salt crust with
girolles, fried artichokes and tomatoes. |

To top it all, the team behind this new swank central is the very same that brought us Zuma and Roka (owner Arjun Waney and former Zuma chef Raphael Duntoye), so it can't really fail to pull in the jettiest of sets. White jeans and a tan, whether male or female, compulsory. La Petite
Maison - opening today |
