One to Watch: Patrick Cleandenim

Here's a real discovery. A 22 year old singer-songwriter from Kansas who's first release has the refinement and quality you would normally associate with the lofty skills of Scott Walker, Burt Bacharach or David Alexrod.

His songs are full of swinging, irresistible orchestral pop and jazz. In fact his recently released debut album entitled 'Baby Comes Home' is so utterly accomplished, it comes over like a master-class in songwriting, albeit a very enjoyable one.

It seems likely that this talent was homed at an early age because he is clearly punching above his weight taking on iconic heavies from the golden age of '60s R&B and pop. Those with a predisposition for Richard Hawley, or early Walker, or simply classic, big band songs will find much to celebrate.

Cleandenim is certainly an odd name to watch.
