When the big boats announced they were crossing the pond (from Marina Botafoch back to the old port, keep up), a scramble ensued to sharpen up this gritty-but-iconic waterfront. The first international name to join the fray is hip Parisian brasserie La Cantine du Faubourg, who’ve gone big with two four-storey buildings and acres of quayside frontage. The palm-shaded all-day terrace, marble cocktail bar and fine food emporium are decidedly Riviera-esque and it’s all decorated in turquoise and white, with striped awnings, Art Deco accents and a retro, ocean-liner feel.
