If you’re after a five-star that’s out of the centre of town, then Aguas is your go-to. Here you’ll find the usual fluffy robes and luxe toiletries, as well as technological trinkets and snazzy light fixtures (we can never work the lights here!). Rooms range from the Deluxe – with its own living room and private terrace – to the loftily named ‘Cloud 9’ suites with curtained four-poster beds. Make the most of the rooftop pool and bar – nab a spot on a modern tub sofa or bright red sun lounger for views of the Marina at Santa Eulalia. Set the alarm for breakfast by the pool, which includes champagne.

Top Tip:
Be sure to request a room facing the port (the other option overlooking the car park really won’t put you in the holiday mood) and have a drink on the roof top bar; make sure you go early though, as it’s not open late.
