The Gecko Beach Club, also on Mitjorn beach, may have a slightly more corporate build than most of the island’s accommodation but it is very well serviced and hosts yoga retreats off season. Professional yoga teachers are also available for twice daily classes. The 27 rooms are plushly turned out in nudes and varnished wood and the beach never gets overcrowded. The restaurant and bar offer delicious food and drink and the staff are extremely friendly. It’s the kind of place where residents and visitors gather around the flatscreen TV to watch football, but they’re sipping cocktails and the tranquility never gets too disrupted. And there’s always a sun lounger to slip away to or, of course, the pop up boutique replete with designer beachwear and accessories.
