Jaye Thompson

European PR Director, Tiffany & Co

The London-based Jaye Thompson first visited Ibiza in September 2002 for “a dash of late summer sun.” The year that DC10 cemented its reputation, Jaye forged an instant love affair with the island. According to Jaye, “For sheer fun in the sun, a sangria soaked afternoon hanging out at the beach by Sa Trinxa restaurant on Salinas beach CANNOT be beaten.”

Jaye Thompson’s Top Tips

  1. Try to contact the divine Pepita via the internet. She’s a local legend and owns two great hotels in the Old Town – one called La Ventana, and the other called the Navila. If she likes you, you’ll get the best rooms, and red carpet treatment!
  2. Give August a wide berth. Go early in the season, when the opening parties are happening – everything feels fresh, exciting and new again!
  3. Cala Conte beach. A trek down several dirt tracks on the south western side of the island, but worth the trip. Quiet beach, crystal clear waters, and not many people, just a low-key restaurants serving the freshest, most delicious seafood.
