Shane Murray is the affable family man and Ibiza Rocks Group promoter responsible for acts from Rizzle Kicks and Tinie Tempah to Bastille and AlunaGeorge. He first stepped on the white isle in 1994, but after many repeat visits, now loves it more than ever. “The island really reveals itself and you find your place in it,” he says. “I’m no hippie, but there really is something in the air: wonderful beaches, beautiful country roads, cold canas in a small bar.” Of course, there’s also work: “At Rocks, we’ve created something special and distinct from ‘normal’ Ibiza, but it’s actually been hugely shaped by the island, too.”
