Ian Hamilton Finlay: The Sonnet is a Sewing-Machine for the Monostich
With an almost haiku-like quality, Finlay's ironic sculptures, neon poem-fragments and thoughtful reflections stand like elements of some larger, hidden masterpiece, filling the beautiful space of the Victoria Miro with their metaphysical presence. A touching and thoughtful selection of multimedia and multi-discursive work from this iconic, often mischievous poet and conceptual artist who died last year.

Victoria Miro Gallery

James Turrell: A Life in Light
Turrell has spent the last 30 years (and $15 million) constructing tunnels and rooms within an Arizonan volcano that he bought in the '70s. Once, a woman who fell through a wall of blue light that was in one of his exhibitions (she thought it solid; she was American) sued him. If this doesn't convince you to go and see this fascinating exhibition about light and perception then I just don't know anymore...

Mon-Fri 10am-6pm, Sat & Sun 12-5pm
Until May 27
Place:
Lousie T Blouin Institute
3 Olaf Street, W11.
