Latin lotharios serenading bonitas señoritas over their candle-lit dinners or Peruvian pan-pipe quintets, jigging around Covent Garden in their ponchos, may both be about as welcome as a swarm of giant mosquitos, but music as an accompaniment to food can be a good thing - trust us! |

The Ebury in Pimlico is all very gastropub downstairs but venture upstairs and you could be in a Chicago jazz club: from the black and white prints on the walls to the deliciously low, smoky lighting. Now they're upping the ante even further by bringing in a jazz trio to compliment the classy new modern European menu from Tante Claire-trained Peter Woods. Think melt-in-the-mouth seafood tortellini and earthy roast cod with puy lentils and basil purée. Stylish boutique hotel The Mandeville has also gotten all suave recently,
introducing Jazz Brunch on Sundays, where acts like Carlos Lopez and
Rio Roberts create the ambience while you can get on with enjoying your
Canadian pancakes with bacon and maple syrup - unlimited champagne doesn't
exactly hurt either. |
