First up, Galvin at Windows weighs in with three courses - for example ballotine of mackerel, followed by risotto with peas and summer truffle, finished with poached apricots and raspberries - for just £29 (until the end of August), and real 'King of the world, ma!' views. If you're really hungry book yourself in for Occo's Morrocan banqueting menu which consists of six - count'em, six - courses with a specially selected glass of wine to go with each, so a Syrah rose to go with the mezze, a Domaine de Sahari for the chicken pastilla and so on, for £65 all in. Or for deluxe Jap, Umu has a new four course set lunch from only £21 - choose from an assortment of sashimis, tempuras and grilled bits and you'll also get a salad, miso soup and fresh fruit or ice cream. But the one everyone seems to be banging on about at the moment is Wild Honey's genius offer of three delectably modern European courses for £15.50 - think an offally starter followed by belly pork with cumin and carrot puree, polished off with a superlative creme caramel. You'll be wishing you'd never been away. |
