Life's all about juxtaposition, right? Here at UJ we believe that the finest delis lurk in the most unlikely places.. |

Take grubby West Kentish Town: OK, so it's not the warzone
it was in the 90s, but it's still the last place you'd expect to find
the lovely Wild Organic Healthfood Café, with its array of fresh
breads, bespoke salads (from £3) and a leafy park-facing alfresco
eating area. Wild horses probably wouldn't drag you to that unlovely middle stretch
of Essex Road, but then - silly you! - you'd miss the Tuscan-owned Food
Lab. Impressive plates of Italian salads, risotto or pasta are only
£3.50, and ramshackle outdoor seating completes an eclectic look.
If only the view wasn't, um, the other side of the road. |
