Cala Boix
Northeast beach that’s well worth the drive
Pronounced ‘bosh’, the drive to Cala Boix is not easy (pass Cala Mastella with the famous El Bigote restaurant and keep going) – we weren’t sure if it was a bike path, or a road… But get there, have a cerveza in their rustic yellow shack on a cliff, enjoy the dark grey sands (one of the only beaches with it in Ibiza), and you’ll agree that it’s well worth the trip.
Top tip: The sun drops relatively early behind the cliff, so get here early (no scoffing at the 11am-ers!) and don’t plan to stay much past 5pm. Note as well that if you want snacks or drinks, you need to get them at the yellow shack or one of the stores up top before making your way down to la playa.
