In true Francophilic style, Les Faux Bourgeois has been bulging at the seams since its opening day, with word of mouth spreading like wildfire about a little piece of Paris popping up in Vancouver. Hidden behind magnolia and cherry blossom trees on a tiny block populated by art galleries, this Gallic hole-in-the-wall maintains a proper feeling of Montmartre grunge, from the ink splattered signage to the chalked up specials and super low-lighting. With classics like Escargots de Bourgogne and Coquilles St. Jacques to start and Le Steak Frites and Cassoulet as mains, even Euro virgins will quickly get the hang of the scene. And where would France be without its wine, of which there is an excellent selection to get your nose stuck into.
