Sometimes all the party tricks in the world just can't contend with a consistent player, and that's what West is - a jewel in Vancouver's culinary crown. Holding true to the region and its seasons, the offerings here are always beautifully presented and impeccably served to 'special occasion' clientele and business folk out to impress. The temperature-controlled wine wall, complete with sliding library ladders, is presided over by top-class sommeliers whilst cocktails are mixed and served at a gleaming cherry wood bar, and diners are nestled in amongst leather paneled walls, beveled mirrors and delicate rice paper lampshades. The tasting menus are a total treat and come in Seafood, West Coast and Vegetarian varieties, saving on the dilemma of trying to choose between all the options on the full menus.
Top Tip / UJ Loves: The reflective Werner Forster sculpture suspended from the ceiling, which snakes down the length of the dining room.
