The Diamond at Maple Tree Square
One part tree-house plus one part cocktail parlour makes a whole heap of entertainment.
The early bird gets the window seat here, as reservations aren't taken and the rush is always on for a piece of the Gastown view, with its eclectic residents and increasingly debauched nightlife antics. Inside the Diamond, you'll get a Prohibition-style space with white-washed, brick-lined walls, a twinkling of chandelier light over solid, woody tables, and a fare of Asian influenced tapas style plates. A favourite with a slick and trendy crowd, it's a bit of a breath of fresh air and billed by its owners (who managed to convince the Landlord to rent them the historical corner property for the first time in its history) as 'one part secret tree-house, one part cocktail parlour'.
